Omaha Nurse Loses License for Fraud

October 13, 2025

As a licensed nurse, you must abide by strict regulations for issuing prescriptions based on your nursing credentials. Issuing prescriptions beyond what your license allows can get you in big trouble and may cost you your nursing license. One Nebraska nurse found this out the hard way. The Nebraska state chief medical officer has revoked the nursing licenses of Andrea Meisinger after she fraudulently issued prescriptions to patients.

Nebraska Nurse Loses License for Fraudulent Prescriptions

The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), which oversees the state’s nursing licensure, had put Andrea Meisinger on probation for issuing prescriptions to patients without properly establishing a patient-provider relationship. Meisinger operates AR Virtual Health, a medical facility that focuses on GLP1 drugs for weight loss. Her license suspension prohibited her from performing any nursing activities during her probation. However, after conducting an investigation, the DHHS determined that she provided care to patients in other states, including issuing prescriptions, even though she didn’t have a license to practice in those states. The DHHS also concluded that she shipped medications to her own address and to the addresses of her friends, as well as issued multiple prescriptions to patients in Nebraska during her suspension. Following these determinations, state chief medical officer Dr. Timothy Tesmer permanently revoked Meisinger’s advanced practice registered nurse, nurse practitioner, and registered nurse licenses.

If you’re facing disciplinary actions that could lead to suspension or revocation of your license, no matter the nature of the allegations, the LLF National Law Firm’s Professional License Defense Team can help you navigate the disciplinary process.
