Nursing Licenses Revoked

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Johanah Napoleon, owner of the Florida nursing school, promised licensed practical nurses a bridge program that would allow them to receive an associate's degree in just 12 months with a combination of online learning, simulated clinical learning, and minimal in-person attendance of classes in Florida. Students paid up to $14,000 for a degree program tailored to working students they believed was legitimate. But, according to officials, Napoleon was selling fake degrees to people who would then sit for licensing exams and obtain nursing licenses in throughout the United States.

After Napoleon pleaded guilty last year, she provided prosecutors with nearly 5,000 names she claims were students who didn't meet licensing requirements. However, many students on the list attended classes online, obtained clinical hours, and legitimately passed licensing exams. Now, these nurses are fighting to get their licenses back from state officials.
