OBGYN Faces New Jersey Practice Ban

The New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners temporarily suspended the license of a Mercer County OBGYN accused of sexually exploiting two patients during medical exams. Dr. Bruce Pierce, a practitioner at Delaware Valley OBGYN & Princeton Midwifery in Lawrenceville, allegedly engaged in gross negligence and professional misconduct by inappropriately touching two women during separate visits in 2023. In a complaint to the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, Pierce allegedly dismissed a chaperone during an exam with one patient and later called another patient to apologize for his behavior.

Following a November 13 hearing, the state authority determined the OBGYN's continued practice posed a "clear and imminent danger to public safety," and the suspension will remain in place pending further proceedings with the Office of Administrative Law.
